50 tourism businesses honoured

Vietnam’s top ten five-star hotels in 2010 have been named by the VietnamTourism Association, with six out of the ten located in HCM City and the New World Hotel grabbing the top honor.

The list sees luxury hotels from HCM City, comprising New World, Caravelle, Rex, Renaissance Riverside, Majestic and Windsor Plaza, three from Khanh Hoa Province (Ana Mandara, Vinpearl Resort & Spa, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay) and only one from Hanoi (Daewoo).

This is an annual award which also honors top-ten hotels in lower rankings of threestar and four-star ratings.

In the list of 10 three-star hotels are Bong Sen, Victory and Vien Dong in HCM City, Intourco in Vung Tau, Hoa Binh in Hanoi, Petro Song Tra in Quang Ngai, Rex in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Festival in Hue, Cuu Long in Can Tho, and VietnamTrade Union in Hanoi.

The names of the top 10 four-star hotels were not disclosed yet but the Continential and Grand, both in HCM City, are said to be the top two hotels.

Along with Vietnam’s ten best hotels 2010 awards, the association has chosen last year’s 20 leading tour operators which was covered by Saigon Times Daily on Tuesday.
